Global Sourcing Manager

Located in Burbank, CA

Direct Hire position $90- $110k per year

The CAPEX Sourcing Manager will champion a significant and strategically important element of the world wide sourcing spend ensuring adequate supply and achieving significant and constant reductions of total cost of ownership.

This senior level professional will deliver year-over-year improvements while enhancing service levels and reliability. To be successful, this person must work closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations and the Supplier Base. This professional must be able to work in a fast moving and dynamic environment and will be results focused. Additionally the job will require the highest levels of analytical skills underpinning commodity knowledge interpretation and management and successful senior management endorsement. Understand the overall Thomson spending on CAPEX, at SBU, Profit Center and Site levels. Regularly update the overall engaged spending at BU level. The CAPEX is made of all BUs posted expenditures as related to machineries, equipments, industrial investments and spare parts.
Develop creative and clearly communicate and execute high impact CAPEX strategies, in line with business expectations
Lead sourcing recommendation, pricing, terms and conditions for new equipments and machinery that a BU needs to invest into.
Lead Supplier Management Process for all suppliers in the portfolio.
Currency and Investment exposure management if relevant
Manage value, risk, cost and cash as related to urchased/Leased equipments and machineries
Work with Engineering, Operations and the suppliers to ensure investments needs are met and the suppliers are actively involved in supporting the key deliverables.
Manage Spare Parts Purchasing agreements with 3rd party suppliers.
Lead Contract negotiations and ensuring supplier and Thomson compliance.
Review and lead proposals where possible for aggregation/consolidation of CAPEX at Thomson level.
Lead multi functional teams to ensure delivery of key performance criteria such as targeted costs, lowest total cost of capital equipment, quality product, on-time delivery.
Assure compliance with ISO, Sarbanes Oxley and similar
Demonstrate highest level of internal customer support
Develop efficient and effective KPI and Market knowledge reporting process/tools to demonstrate measure and controlled management of CAPEX.

Monthly CAPEX Variance to budget
Savings reporting : action details, timing of implementation, semestrial/annual impacts.
Cash improvement to Budget
In depth analytical review and interpretation of the Market
Key monthly highlights of activities
Key supplier meetings
Regular, clear and concise Executive Management communicating keeping all apprised and aware of issues/opportunities
Critical non compliance issues both internal and external

To represent business needs of CAPEX managed as a pro-active team member within BUs.
Support Sourcing Account Managers needs.
Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams.
Add ideas / input to support other sourcing resources.
Work closely with Programs and Quality staff.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
ESSENTIAL:
Min 10 years of Sourcing experience gained in a manufacturing/industrial environment
Proven track record of delivering results in a fast moving pressurized environment
Excellent negotiator
Team leadership of multi functional teams
Ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Excellent communicator both written and verbal
Experience of working in an Industrial environment
Fluent English written and oral communications
Analytically astute and able to use category knowledge to deliver enhanced business performance
PREFERRED: Category knowledge : machinery, equipments, spares, industrial sourcing for Materials, packaging, capital equipment.
International buying exposure
Cross site project leadership
